Guys, be sincere: Would you wish you had been bigger? Almost definitely, the solution is yes.

"I believe there is not a guy on the planet who has not wished his penis were an inch or two longer," states Michael O'Leary, MD, professor of urologic surgery at Harvard Medical College and a urologist at Brigham and Women's Clinic in Boston.

However, after much more than the usual century of usually dubious and occasionally lunatic penis enlargement attempts, there is still not much you can do. Sure, there are tons and lots of supposed options out there -- penis tablets, creams, brutal stretching workouts, horrific-looking devices, and penis surgery. Almost none of it really works. The couple of methods that may function frequently have modest advantages and severe side effects. How serious? In a few instances, erectile dysfunction-serious.

"Trust me, if I understood of the way to securely and effectively increase penis dimension, I'd be considered a billionaire," O'Leary tells WebMD. "But I do not. Nobody does."

Still, typical feeling does not stop size-obsessed men from trying very sketchy remedies on the important component in their anatomy -- and risking a great deal within the procedure.

How Small Is a Little penis?
Think you're smaller than average? You are probably not.

The typical erect penis is usually five to six inches long with a circumference of four to 5 inches. There's much more variation in the dimension of flaccid penises.

Some guys are genuinely smaller than that. In uncommon instances, genetics and hormone issues trigger a situation known as micropenis -- an erect penis of under 3 inches. Occasionally Peyronie's illness or prostate most cancers surgery can reduce a guy's size.

But studies show that most of the guys looking for penis enlargement are average-sized. They simply believe they're below typical.

Why? Part of it's perspective. It is extremely hard to gauge the dimensions of your own penis -- looking down, you have got a bad angle.

Psychology performs a role, as well. Some average-sized guys become obsessed with the idea that they are too small. There is even a psychiatric prognosis: penile dysmorphic disorder. It's much like the perceptual distortion of anorexics who believe they are fat no matter how thin they get.

According to one study, the majority of men who get penis enlargement surgery have this condition. They're also the least satisfied with the outcomes.
